My 2021 hiking trip was to the White River National Forest which surrounds the city of Snowmass Colorado and its more famous neighbor Aspen. This trip was the first time I'd flown since the COVID lockdown, but with Snoopy and Woodstock seeing me off at the Minneapolis airport I was confidant everything would be OK.
It was Warren's turn to plan the trip in 2021, and one of his ideas was that we could use the ski gondolas to get to elevation with our gear and then use the contour lines to our advantage as we worked our way down. Unlike many of our ideas over the years this one worked out perfectly and was the best $30 I'd spent in a long time.
Inexplicably at one point along the path we came across a couch, and took advantage for a rest and obligatory photos.
The most scenic day hike we took was to the Maroon Lake Area.
Of course we couldn't pass up a day hike to the Warren lake area, although the lake itself was mostly a large grass covered slew the hike provided a number of nice views.
